Test of Methods for Collecting Racial and Ethnic Information

1995

The findings of a special survey to examine the effects of possible changes in the standards for the classification of race and ethnicity in federal government surveys issued by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, U.S. Department of Labor. The survey was conducted as a supplement to the May 1995 Current Population Survey, a monthly sample survey of about 56,000 households conducted by the Bureau of the Census for the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The May 1995 supplement was developed at the request of the Interagency Committee for the Review of the Racial and Ethnic Standards, established by the Office of Management and Budget.
