Annual Report of the Commissioner of the Freedman's Savings and Trust Company
Under the Act of February 21, 1881, Congress appointed the Comptroller of the Currency as the Commissioner of the Freedman's Savings and Trust Company. The Commissioner was instructed to submit an annual report to Congress detailing the remaining ongoing business of the Freedman's Bank, which had closed in 1874.
