Publications of the Department of Labor, Division of Negro Economics
In 1917, the Division of Negro Economics was established as part of the United States Department of Labor. Headed by George E. Haynes, the first African American to receive a Ph.D. from Columbia University, the Division published three research reports before its closure in 1922.
