American statistician

Rensis Likert was an American social psychologist mainly known for developing the Likert scale, an approach to creating a psychometrically sound scale based on responses to multiple questions. Also, Likert founded the theory of participative management, which was used to engage employees in the workplace and ultimately allow them to enjoy their job more. Likert's contributions in psychometrics, research samples, and more (including open-ended interviewing) have led to the forming and shaping of social and organizational psychology.
