Canadian social scientist
Leonard Charles Marsh was a social scientist and professor, and a 1928 graduate of the London School of Economics. In 1930, he became the Director of Social Research at McGill University, and was later the project director of the Social Science Research Project. He was named Director of Research of the University of British Columbia's School of Social Work in 1959 and retired in 1972. His "Report on Social Security for Canada" (1943), which became known as the "Marsh Report," called for the establishment of a broad range of social assistance, social insurance, and public welfare programs in Canada.
