This represents a 9.6 percent decline in the dollar from its 1992 peak, reached on the week ending March 25. The U.S. merchandise trade deficit was $7A billion in June, fol lowing a May deficit of $7.1 billion. For 1992 to date, the deficit is $29.1 billion, up from a deficit of $25.8 billion for a similar period in 1991. The Ml money stock increased 6.5 percent on an annualized basis during the three months ending July 13. Over the past year, Ml increased 11 percent. t/ The M2 money stock decreased at a 1.7 percent annual rate during the three months ending July 13. M2 expanded 1.2 percent during the past year.
