Average Yields of Long-Term TreaEury and Corporate Bonds

In reaponse to requests for earlier figures on the aTerage yields of long-term partially teLX-0X8Bpt Treasury bonds and long-term high-grade corporate bonds, the following
table and oharte have been prepared to present monthly and weeUy (Saturday) figures
beginning with January 1933. Certain revisions In previously published data for recent
periods are also Incorporated.
The Treasury bond series consists of the average of partially tax-exempt Treasury
bonds not due or callable for 12 years. Partially tax-exempt bonds are Issues the income
the case of

from which is exempt from the normal rates of the Federal Income tax.
Treasury bonds with the partial tax-exemption privilege, interest derived from |5,000 of
principal amount owned by any single holder is also exempt from the surtax rates of the
Federal income tax.
