T h e r e v i s e d m o n e t a r y p o l i c y b i l l w o u ld r e q u i r e t h a t t h e " F e d e r a l R e s e r v e
s h a l l c o n d u c t m o n e t a r y p o l i c y in t h e f i r s t h a l f o f 1975 s o a s to l o w e r l o n g
t e r m i n t e r e s t r a t e s . " T h e b i l l w o u ld a l s o r e q u i r e t h e F e d to r e p o r t m o n t h ly

a n d c u r r e n c y o u t s i d e b a n k s " of n o l e s s t h a n 6% d u r i n g t h e f i r s t h a l f of 1975.
