HUNT::SR P.EAFFIRMS WPA WORKERS' RIGHT TO MAKE VOTI NG THEIR OWN BUSINESS Every WPA worker's ri ght to vote as he pleases is reaffirmed in a letter to be enclosed with pay checks issued in the near future, Howard O. Hunter, Acting Commissioner of Work Projects, announced. today. The l e tt er, which will reach all '-t.'PA employe e s before the November 5 general election and will be posted i mmediately on all project and administrative bulletin boards, also r e stA.tes that it is illegal for anyone to ask a WPA employee for a political contribution, The lett er, over the signature of Mr. Hunter and addre ss e d to J'all emi)loyees of the Work Projects Administra tion, 11 follows: In order that there can be no misunderstanding of Work Pr oje cts Administration rules about voting ri ght s of employees, regulations of this Administra tion on t his matter a re rest ate d as follows: 1. You are entitled to vote or not vote, as you · ch~ose. 2. No one either connected with or not connected with the Work Proj e cts Administration can get you fir ed or change your wages because :rou do or do not vote or be caus e you belong to or do not belong to a political party. It is against the law for anyone to ask you for money for any po litical campaign. If you are empl oye d in an administrative or supervis ory capacity you may vote as you please and express privately your oy.iinion on political subjects.
