J..pproximately 73 per cent of the money to be spent for Works Progress J,.dministrat-i on projects in Kansas will be spent for highways, reads and streets; public buildings both governmental and educational; parks and playgrounds; flood control and other conservation; water supply and sewer systems; and airports and airwE>.ys, according to an announcement made today by Harry L. Hopkins, Works Progress J,.dministrator. J,. listing by tyne s and cost of p rojects shows that of the total of $14,595,785 to be spent on projects, ~s of December 31, 1935, the following r e- ceived the bulk of the money: Highways, farm-to-market roads and streets, $6,453,921, or 44.2 per cent; public buildings, both governmental and educational, $1,106,360, or 7.5 per cent; parks and playgrounds, $1,535,890, or 10.5 per cent; flood control and other conservation, $727,614, or 5.0 per cent; water supply and sewer systems, $846,221, or 5.8 per cent; and airports and airways, $82,283, or 0.6 per cent. The balance of the money will be spent to provid~ work for, women, white collar, and other professional and technical unemployed workers.
