Secretary Mnuchin Leads Trip to the Middle East and India

Treasury delegation to Israel, Saudi Arabia, UAE, India and Qatar will advance AML/CFT
priorities, strengthen bilateral economic and trade relationships, and further cooperation in
support of market-oriented, pro-growth economic policies.
WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of the Treasury today announced some of the key
engagements that will occur during Secretary Steven T. Mnuchin’s upcoming trip to the Middle
East and India. Secretary Mnuchin, accompanied by Senior Advisor to the President Jared
Kushner, Under Secretary for International A airs Brent McIntosh and Assistant Secretary for
Terrorist Financing and Financial Crimes Marshall Billingslea, will lead a delegation to discuss
important national security initiatives to combat terrorism and illicit finance, strengthen
bilateral economic partnerships, and promote economic growth.
“Our trip will include o icial meetings and events with leaders from Israel, Saudi Arabia, the
UAE, India and Qatar, and focus on combatting terrorism and illicit finance, while also
strengthening bilateral economic relations,” said Secretary Mnuchin. “We look forward to
engaging with our partners across the Middle East and in India to confront Iran’s malign and
destabilizing influence, strengthen our joint e orts to combat terrorism financing networks, and
create economic conditions that foster growth and promote prosperity for people around the
world.”
While in Israel, Secretary Mnuchin and Mr. Kushner will meet with Prime Minister Benjamin
Netanyahu and other senior government o icials to discuss terrorist financing and national
security issues. The delegation will then proceed to Saudi Arabia, where Secretary Mnuchin and
Mr. Kushner will participate in the Future Investment Initiative conference and meet with Saudi
Arabian government counterparts to discuss the vital collaborative work of the Terrorist
Financing Targeting Center (TFTC), undertaken jointly by the United States and its Gulf partners.
Secretary Mnuchin and the delegation will then hold meetings with o icials in the United Arab
Emirates and travel to India to participate in the seventh Ministerial meeting of the U.S. – India
Economic and Financial Partnership.

The U.S. – India Economic and Financial Partnership was established by the U.S. Treasury and
Indian Ministry of Finance in 2010 as a framework to support a deeper economic relationship
between the two Nations. Secretary Mnuchin’s trip to India and the delegation’s participation in
the in the seventh Ministerial meeting of the U.S. – India Economic and Financial Partnership
recognizes the important and enduring relationship between the U.S. and India.
While in India the Secretary and delegation members will also conduct bilateral meetings with
o icial government counterparts. The trip will conclude in Qatar where Secretary Mnuchin and
the delegation will meet with government counterparts to continue discussions surrounding
terrorist financing and other national security issues, following productive meetings with Amir
of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani.

Monday, October 28, 2019 Tel Aviv, Israel – Secretary Mnuchin and the delegation will
participate in a series of meetings and events in Israel, including bilateral meetings with Prime
Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as well as other senior government o icials to discuss terrorist
financing, economic cooperation and national security issues.
Tuesday, October 29, 2019 Tel Aviv, Israel and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – Secretary Mnuchin and
the delegation will participate in a roundtable with biotech and health industry leaders in Tel
Aviv and will have bilateral meetings with o icial government counterparts in Saudi Arabia to
discuss counterterrorism and economic topics.
Wednesday, October 30, 2019 Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – Secretary Mnuchin will participate in a
panel on capital markets development at the Future Investment Initiative conference. The
Secretary and the delegation will also meet with senior government o icials, including Minister
of Finance Mohammed Al-Jadaan, to discuss mutual counterterrorism and illicit finance
priorities including the TFTC, and will participate in o icial events.
Thursday, October 31, 2019 Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – Secretary Mnuchin and the
delegation will meet with o icial government counterparts in U.A.E, including Crown Prince
Mohammed Bin Zayed, to discuss national security and collaboration on illicit finance issues.
Secretary Mnuchin and the delegation will also participate in a dinner with business leaders.
Friday, November 1, 2019 New Dehli, India – Secretary Mnuchin and the delegation will
participate in the Ministerial meeting of the U.S. – India Economic and Financial Partnership
and conduct bilateral meetings on economic issues.

Saturday, November 2, 2019 Mumbai, India – Secretary Mnuchin and the delegation will
participate in o icial meetings and events including roundtable discussions with Indian
business leaders.
Sunday, November 3, 2019 Doha, Qatar – Secretary Mnuchin and the delegation will meet with
the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, Prime Minister Abdullah Bin Nasser Bin
Khalifa Al-Thani and other senior Qatari o icials to discuss collaborative e orts to counter
terrorism finance networks and strengthen Qatar’s AML/CFT regime.
Monday, November 4, 2019 Doha, Qatar – Secretary Mnuchin and the delegation will participate
in bilateral meetings with o icial government counterparts.
