Yellen’s Meeting with Mexican Finance Secretary Arturo Herrera Gutiérrez June 17, 2021 Earlier today, Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen met with Mexican Finance Secretary Arturo Herrera Gutiérrez. Secretary Yellen reviewed ongoing e orts in the United States and Mexico to respond e ectively to the COVID-19 pandemic, and to support a robust economic recovery. She a irmed Treasury’s commitment to deepen cooperation with Mexico on preventing illicit finance, and looked forward to bilateral cooperation to address the root causes of migration from northern Central America. Secretary Yellen stressed the importance of support by the G-20, in which Mexico is a key participant, for a global minimum tax.
