Secretary Yellen expressed appreciation for Germanyʼs close coordination on the implementation and enforcement of Russia sanctions, and they discussed the impact Russiaʼs unprovoked and brutal war against Ukraine has had on global energy and food prices and Germanyʼs economic recovery. The Secretary emphasized U.S. support for Germanyʼs e orts to the diversify and decarbonize its energy supply, and encouraged continued investment in German and EU energy security.
