Yellen held a call with Canada Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Chrystia Freeland. The Secretary thanked Deputy Prime Minster Freeland for the close partnership on developing and deploying impactful sanctions in response to Russiaʼs renewed aggression against Ukraine. Secretary Yellen and Deputy Prime Minister Freeland shared concerns that Russiaʼs actions undermine international law and pose a threat to the rules-based international order.
