Yellen’s Tour of Crime Lab in Mexico City December 6, 2023 MEXICO CITY – Today, during her visit to Mexico City, Secretary Janet L. Yellen toured a crime evidence lab operated by the o ice of Mexicoʼs Attorney General, Fiscalía General de la República (FGR), that processes evidence of fentanyl-related and other illicit activities. FGR leadership briefed Secretary Yellen on their e orts to stem the tra icking of synthetic narcotics, specifically fentanyl. Secretary Yellen also had the opportunity to witness a canine demonstration with drug, firearm, and currency detection canines donated by the Department of Stateʼs Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL).
