Yellen met with Mexicoʼs Secretary of Finance and Public Credit, Rogelio Ramírez de la O, on the margins of the AsiaPacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meetings. Secretary Yellen emphasized that Mexico is an important ally and a close economic partner of the United States in the region, and that the United States looks forward to continuing to strengthen the bilateral relations between our countries. Secretary Yellen also discussed next steps following the recent Americas Partnership for Economic Prosperity Leaders Summit and opportunities to deepen cooperation to combat illicit finance threats.
