The Deputy Secretary highlighted the Biden-Harris Administration’s commitment to strengthening American competitiveness and innovation, and reinvigorating America’s global leadership. The Deputy Secretary noted the important role the private sector plays in sanctions implementation to further U.S. national security, foreign policy, and economic policy objectives. Through the sanctions review, the Deputy Secretary seeks to identify ways to promote a warranted, strategic, and judicious use of sanctions.
