Yellen hosted the AsiaPacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Finance Ministersʼ Meeting in Francisco, California, as part of the United Statesʼ APEC host year. During the Finance Ministersʼ Meeting, Secretary Yellen highlighted that APEC members are at the center of the 21st century global economy, and Americaʼs leadership and engagement over the past several years, along with the e orts of our partners in the region, has resulted in important economic progress. The Finance Ministersʼ Meeting, which was held ahead of APEC Leadersʼ Meeting, served as an opportunity to build on this progress and comprised important discussions about key areas of collective work, including advancing modern supply side economics, promoting sustainable finance, and furthering the responsible development of digital assets. Secretary Yellen joined her counterparts in issuing a consensus joint ministerial statement.
