PRESENT: Mr. Szymczak, Acting Chairman Mr. Mills Mr. Robertson Mr. Carpenter, Secretary Mr. Sherman, Assistant Secretary Mr. Kenyon, Assistant Secretary Letter to Mr. Willis, Secretary, Federal Reserve Bank of New York, reading as follows: Thank you for your letter of June 3, 1954, advising that, at the meeting held on May 27, 1954, the Board of Directors granted a leave of absence without pay, commencing in the discretion of the officers, to Mr. Arthur I. Bloomfield, Senior Economist, to enable him to serve on call at the request of the Department of the Army, Office of the Chief of Civil Affairs and Military Government, as consultant on economic matters for a few dapa month aggregating not more than thirty days over a period of one year from the effective date of such leave. It is noted from your letter that the Department of the Army, Office of the Chief of Civil Affairs and Military Government, will compensate Mr. Bloomfield for his services and pay him an expense allowance in connection with his absences from the Bank. The Board of Governors interposes no objection to the arrangement with respect to Mr. Bloomfield as described in your letter. Approved unanimously.
