A meeting of the Executive Committee of the Federal Reserve Board was held in the office of the Federal Reserve Board on Friday, July 11, 1924, at 11:00 o'clock. 111.13ENT: Pil..13ENT ALSO: Mice Governor Platt Mr. James Ur. Eddy, Jecretary Mr. Miller Mr. Miller referred to the forthcoming moot in of the Open Market Investment Committee for, the Federal Reserve System:which had been tentatively scheduled for July 25th at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, but stated that it had been suggested by the Chairman of the Committee that the date of the meeting be advanced and that it be held.at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, in view of the fact that it will be inconvenient for some members of the Committee to meet in Chicago this month. Upon motion, it was voted that if the Open Market Investment Committee finds that a meeting in Boston on July 16th would be convenient the Board will approve the change. Telegram dated July 10th from the Chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, advising of the action of the Exocutive Committee in voting to reduce the rediscount rate of the bank on all classes of paper of all maturities from e4; to 4, subject to the approval of the Board. After discussion, it was voted that the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas be advised that there will not be a Board meeting until next week and that the matter will be held for action until that time. The Vice Governor than presented, without recommendation by the Law Committee, ,the application for trust powers of the Lincoln State National Bank of Lincoln, Nebraska, calling attention to the fact that while the capital of the bank is ;:e200,000, the surplus is only :,;36,500.
