Minutes of actions taken by the Board of Governors of the
Federal Reserve System on January 27, 19471 were approved unanimously.
Memorandum dated January 221 1947, from Mr. Thomas, Director
of the Division of Research and Statistics, recommending the appointment of Frank M. Tamagna as an economist in that Division, with basic
salarY at the rate of 0,820.40 per annum, effective as of the date
Upon which he enters upon the performance of his duties after having
Passed the usual physical examination.

The memorandum also stated

that Mr. Tamagna was a member of the Federal Reserve retirement system and would remain in that system.
Approved unanimously.
Memorandum dated January 171 19471 from Mr. Thomas, Director
of the Division of Research and Statistics, recommending the appointment of Arthur L. Broida as an economist in that Division, on a temPerary indefinite basis, with basic salary at the rate of $41525.80
Per annum, effective as of the date upon which he enters upon the
Performance of his duties after having passed the usual physical
"aaination.

The memorandum also stated that Mr. Broida was a member

of the Civil Service Retirement System and would remain in that system.

Bank of Chicago, reading as follows:
"Taxes and fees payable as prerequisite to obtaining license
plates in name of purchaser of a used automobile, when paid as

guide value under Part 4 of the Supplement to Regulation W."
