The following list of Psychiatric Clinics for Children will enable
those interested to determine the available resources in any given
locality.1 Inclusion in this list carries no implication regarding the
quality of work done in the clinic, and it is in no sense an “ approved ”
list but is merely a guide to the location of clinics offering psychiatric
examinations for children. The list is the result o f a thorough search
which terminated about April 1, 1928, and does not include any
clinics established since that date. The list was prepared by Clara
Bassett o f the division on community clinics of the National Com
mittee for Mental Hygiene, under the supervision of Dr. George S.
Stevenson, director of that division. In addition to the organizations
listed here, there are psychiatrists in private practice, a list o f whom
for any locality can be obtained from the National Committee for
Mental Hygiene or the American Psychiatric Association.
1 See also Directory of Psychiatric Clinics for Children in the United States (second
edition, 1928, issued by the Commonwealth Fund, Division of Publications, 578 Madison
Avenue, New York, N. Y .), which gives information as to the activities of State depart
ments of mental hygiene as well as descriptions of the clinics listed.
