BOARD OF GOVERNORS OF THE FEDERAL RESERVE SYSTEM
For the week ending April 2, 1955

CHANGES IN STATE BANK MEMBERSHIP
Date effective
Mergers and Establishment of Branches
The Marine Trust Company of Western New York,
Buffalo, New York, a State member, merged under
its charter and title with Bank of Gowanda,
Gowanda, New York, an insured nonmember. The
former main office and branch of Bank of
Gowanda will be operated as branches by the
continuing bank.

Bank of Manhattan Company, New York, New York, a
State member, merged under its charter with
The Chase National Bank, New York, New York;
changed its title to The Chase Manhattan Bank;
moved its head office to the former location of
The Chase National Bank; opened a branch in the
former location of its head office; and will
continue to operate the twenty-eight branches
of The Chase National Bank.

Wachovia Bank and Trust Company, Winston-Salem,
North Carolina, a State member, merged under
its charter and-title with the Bank of Wayne,
Goldsboro, North Carolina, an insured nonmember.
The main office and branch of the latter bank
will be operated as branches by the continuing
bank.
