Missing, Stolen and Fictitious Official Checks

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) has advised us that fictitious cashier's
checks drawn on the City National Bank of New Jersey, Newark, New Jersey, are in circulation.
A copy of a legitimate instrument and a copy of a counterfeit instrument are attached. If you
have any information concerning this matter, please contact the bank by telephone at (201) 6240865 or by fax at (201) 624-4369.
We also have been informed that official checks drawn on National Bank of Canton (formerly
known as Union National Bank), Macomb, Illinois, bearing numbers 049001 through and
including 053400 are missing and presumed stolen. A specimen copy is attached. If you have
any information concerning this matter, please contact Ms. Sue Dunseth, Vice President and
Cashier, National Bank of Canton, 130 North Side Square, Macomb, Illinois 61455. You also
may contact Ms. Duseth by telephone at (309) 837-0113 or by fax at (309) 833-5900.
In addition, we have been advised that fictitious cashier's checks drawn on Merchantile Bank, N.
A., Brownsville, Texas, are in circulation. If you have any information concerning this matter,
please contact Ms. Joyce Cox at the bank by telephone at (512) 886-6483 or by fax at (512)
886-6583. A specimen copy is not available.
