FEDERAL RESERVE statistical release
NOTICE
Money supply data that would normally be issued by the Federal Reserve
Board on November 14 may be delayed for a time in view of changes in the flows
of data required by the Monetary Control Act of 1980o
Two major changes affect the data flows necessary to compute money
supply statistics: all depository institutions with total deposits of $15 million
or more must now file weekly deposit reports with the Federal Reserve if they have
reservable deposits.

In addition, reporting forms will reflect new definitions

that conform with provisions of the Act which subjects transaction accounts and
non-personal time deposits to reserve requirements set by the Federal Reserve.
In the transition to the new procedures, some data flows may be late
and a sizable amount of editing and review of figures collected from depository
institutions can be expected during the start-up period.

Consequently, there

may be some delay in the figures to be reported on November 14 and possibly for
a few weeks thereafter.
The Board will announce by the close of business on Thursday, November 13,
whether money supply data for the statement week of October 30-Noveniber 5 will be
delayed for a time or will be issued on November 14 O Any delay in subsequent
weeks will be similarly announced in advanceo
