The seasonally adjusted money supply averaged $193.0 billion in December, about $1.0 billion higher than in the preceding month. Time and savings deposits increased $2.4 billion in December on average, about the same as in November. The rate of expansion in these deposits slowed during December with a substantial decline in the last week of the month.
