CONDITION OF MEMBER BANKS IN LEADING CITIES Changes in t h e c o n d i t i o n of 72? r e p o r t i n g member banks in l e a d i n g c i t i e s - d u r i n g the week ending September -2, ag shown i n t h e s t a t e m e n t issued, by t h e F e d e r a l Reserve Board, i n c l u d e i n c r e a s e s of $100,000,000 i n l o a n s and d i s c o u n t s , of $93,000,000 i n n e t demand d e p o s i t s , and a d e c l i n e of $28,000,000 i n i n v e s t m e n t s . The New York Ci^y members r e p o r t e d i n c r e a s e s of $57,000,000 i n loans and d i s c o u n t s , and of $40,000,000 i n net demand d e p o s i t s , and a r e d u c t i o n of $25,000,000 i n i n v e s t m e n t s . L a r g e r f i g u r e s were r e p o r t e d f o r a l l c l a s s e s of l o a n s t h a n a week ago. Loans on U. S. Government o b l i g a t i o n s i n c r e a s e d ,$17,000,000, a l l of which was i n t h e New York d i s t r i c t .
