For immediate r e l e a s e CONDITION OF WEEKLY REPORTING MEMBER BAIIKS IN LEADING CITIES The F e d e r a l Reserve B o a r d ' s c o n d i t i o n statement of weekly r e p o r t i n g member banks i n $1 l e a d i n g c i t i e s on October 3 shows an i n c r e a s e f o r the week of $22,000,000 i n t o t a l loans and i n v e s t m e n t s , and d e c r e a s e s of $29,000,000 i n n e t d e mand d e p o s i t s , $6,000,000 i n time d e p o s i t s and $98,000,000 i n r e s e r v e b a l a n c e s with F e d e r a l Reserve b a n k s . Loans on s e c u r i t i e s declined. $20,000,000 a t r e p o r t i n g member banks i n the New York d i s t r i c t and $33*000*000 a t a l l r e p o r t i n g member b a n k s , "All o t h e r " loans i n creased $18,000,000 i n t h e New York d i s t r i c t , $4,000,000 each i n the S t . Louis and San Francisco d i s t r i c t s , and $34,000,000 a t a l l r e p o r t i n g b a n k s .
