For immediate r e l e a s e CONDITION OF WEEKLY REPORTING MEMBER BANKS IN 90 LEADING CITIES The Federal Reserve Board's condition statement of weekly r e p o r t i n g member banks i n 90 leading c i t i e s on October 11 shows i n c r e a s e s f o r the week of $79,000,000 i n net demand d e p o s i t s and $$0,000,000 in r e s e r v e balances with Federal Reserve banks and a decrease of $12,000,000 in loans and investments. Loans on s e c u r i t i e s declined $14,000,000 a t r e p o r t i n g member banks i n the New York d i s t r i c t and a t a l l • r e p o r t i n g member banks. "All o t h e r " loans i n creased $38,000,000 in the New York d i s t r i c t and $19,000,000 a t a l l r e p o r t i n g banks. Holdings of United S t a t e s Government s e c u r i t i e s declined $36,000,000 i n the New York d i s t r i c t , i n c r e a s e d $10,000,000 i n the Cleveland d i s t r i c t and declined $as,00u,000 a t a l l r e p o r t i n g banks. Holdings of other s e c u r i t i e s incre ase d $16,000,000 in the New York d i s t r i c t and $11,000,000 a t a l l r e p o r t i n g banks. Borrowings of weekly r e p o r t i n g banks from Federal Reserve banks aggregated $23,000,000 on October 11, an i n c r e a s e of $3,000,000 f o r the week.
