CONDITION OF MEMBER BASKS IN LEADING CITIES The Federal .Reserve B o a r d ' s condition, statement- of 635 r e p o r t i n g member banks i n leading c i t i e s as of September 26 shows d e c l i h e s f o r the week of $31,000,000 i n l o a n s and d i s c o u n t s , o f $24,000,000 i n investments, of # 0 , 0 0 0 , 0 0 0 i n net demand d e p o s i t s , of $4l,000,000 i n Government d e p o s i t s , and of $83,000,000 i n borrowings from Federal reserve banks. Loans on stocks and bonds, including United S t a t e s Government o b l i g a t i o n s , were $53,000,000 below the September 19 t o t a l a t a l l r e p o r t i n g banks, d e c l i n e s of $71,000,000 r e p o r t e d by member banks i n the New York d i s t r i c t and of $8,000,000 i n the Chicago d i s t r i c t being p a r t l y o f f s e t by i n c r e a s e s of $13,000,000 i n the San Francisco d i s t r i c t and $9,000,000 i n the A t l a n t a d i s t r i c t .
