Condition of Weekly Reporting Member Banks in 101 LenrHnp mtiea
The condition statement of weekly reporting member banks in 101 leading cities
shows the foUmdng principal changes for the week ended November 2i Decreases for
the week of $16,000,000 in commercial, industrial and agricultural loans,
@22,000,000 in holdings of United States Government direct obligations, @43,000,000
xn Other securities^ $84,000,000 in reserve balances with Federal Reserve banks
and $229,000,000 in demand deposits-adjusted.
Commercial, industrial, and agricultural loans declined #11,000,000 in New York
y, and #16,000,000 at all reporting member banks. Loans to brokers and dealers
xn securities increased $7,000,000 at reporting member banks in New York City and
declined a like amount at other reporting member banks. "Other loans" declined
@9,000,000 in the San Francisco district and $10,000,000 at all reporting member
banks.
Holdings of United States Government direct obligations declined $16,000,000
m New York City, $10,000,000 in the Cleveland district and $22,000,000 at all reporting member banks, and increased $9,000,000 in the Chicago district. Holdings
of obligations fully guaranteed by the United States Government declined
$10,000,000 in New York City and $5,000,000 in the Cleveland district, and increased in most of the other districts, all reporting member banks showing a net
decline of, $1,000,000 for the week. Holdings of "Other securities" declined
@62,000,000 in New York City and $43,000,000 at all reporting member banks.
Demand deposits-adjusted declined in nearly all districts, the principal decreases being $131,000,000 in New York City and $37,000,000 in the Chicago district, and the aggregate net decrease being $229,000,00©,
Deposits credited to domestic banks declined $36,000,000 in New York City, and
increased $19,000,000 in the Chicago district, $10,000,000 in the Richmond district/,
923,000.000 at all reporting member banks. Deposits credited to foreign banks declined $21,000,000 in New York City,
Borrowings of weekly reporting member banks amounted to $2,000,000 on
