COHDITIOH OF MBMBER BAH1CS DT LEADING CITIES The Federal Reserve Board 1 s condition statement of reporting member tanks in leading c i t i e s on October 31 shows increases of $122,000,000 in loans and discounts, of $165,000,000 in net demand deposits, of $21,000,000 i n time deposits and of $1^,000,000 in borrowings from Federal reserve banks, and decreases of $4,000,000 in investments and of $7,000,000 in Government d e p o s i t s . ^ Loans on stocks and "bonds, including TJ. • S. Government o b l i g a t i o n s , were i?75.000,000 above the October 24 t o t a l at a l l reporting banks, an increase of s-46,000,000 being reported by member banks in the Hew York d i s t r i c t , of ^14,000,000 in the Boston d i s t r i c t , of $7,000,000 in the P h i l a d e l p h i a d i s t r i c t , and of $5,000,000 each in the Chicago and Cleveland d i s t r i c t s , and a decline of $6,000,000 in the Atlanta d i s t r i c t . 11All other n loans and d i s counts increased $7,000,000 each in the Atlanta and Cleveland d i s t r i c t s , *6,000,000 each in the Boston and Hew York d i s t r i c t s , $5,000,000 in the St. Louis d i s t r i c t and $47,000,000 a t a l l r e p o r t i n g banks• Holdings of U.
