Condition of Weekly Reporting Member Banks in Leading C i t i e s
The condition statement of weekly reporting member banks in 101 leading c i t i e s
shows the following p r i n c i p a l changes for the week ended November 2$ t Increases of
51 *000#000 in holdings of Treasury b i l l s , $102,000,000 in reserve balances with
Federal Reserve Banks, and $526,000,000 in demand d e p o s i t s - a d j u s t e d , and a decrease
of $590# 000,000 in United S t a t e s Government deposits #
Commercial, i n d u s t r i a l , and agricultural loans declined $1*8,000,000. Loans to
brokers and dealers in s e c u r i t i e s declined $35,000,000.
Holdings of Treasury b i l l s increased $11*7,000,000 in New York City and
$151,000,000 at a l l reporting member banks, and declined $1*0,000,000 in the Chicago
&
District.
Demand deposits-adjusted increased $31*5,000,000 in New York City, $63,000,000
in the Chicago D i s t r i c t and $526,000,000 at a l l reporting member banks. United
States Government d e p o s i t s declined $226,000,000 in New York C i t y , $66,000,000 in
the Chicago D i s t r i c t , and $390>000,000 at a l l reporting number banks.
Deposits credited t o domestic banks declined $2),000,000 in New York City,
$17,000,000 in the Kansas City D i s t r i c t , and $86,000,000 at a l l reporting member
banks.
