CONDITION OF WEEKLY REPORTING MEMBER BAMS IN LEADING CITIES The Federal Reserve B o a r d ' s condition statement of weekly r e p o r t i n g member banks in l e a d i n g c i t i e s on May 13 shows l i t t l e net change i n t o t a l loans and i n vestments f o r the week, a s u b s t a n t i a l increase in the New York d i s t r i c t being l a r g e l y o f f s e t by r e d u c t i o n s i n other d i s t r i c t s . Net demand d e p o s i t s increased $169 ,000,000, l a r g e l y in the New York d i s t r i c t , while time d e p o s i t s declined $24,000,000, Government d e p o s i t s $23,000,000 and borrowings from Federal r e s e r v e banks $14,000,000. Loans on s e c u r i t i e s i n c r e a s e d $67,000,000 in the New York d i s t r i c t and $7,000,000 in the San Francisco d i s t r i c t , and declined $36,000,000 i n the Chicago d i s t r i c t , $8,000,000 i n t h e P h i l a d e l p h i a d i s t r i c t and $7,000,000 in the Boston d i s t r i c t , a l l r e p o r t i n g banks showing a net increase of $10,000,000.
