For immediate r e l e a s e CONDITION OF WEEKLY REPORTING MEMBER BAKES IN LEADING- CITIES The F e d e r a l Reserve B o a r d ' s c o n d i t i o n statement of weekly r e p o r t i n g member banks i n 91 l e a d i n g c i t i e s on February 28 shows i n c r e a s e s f o r the week of $275,000,000 in r e s e r v e b a l a n c e s with Federal Reserve banks, $152,000,000 i n n e t demand d e p o s i t s , $49,000,000 in Government d e p o s i t s and $69,000,000 in i n v e s t ments, and a d e c r e a s e of $163,000,000 i n l o a n s . Loans on s e c u r i t i e s d e c l i n e d $107,000,000 a t r e p o r t i n g member banks i n the New York d i s t r i c t and $110,000,000 a t a l l r e p o r t i n g member b a n k s , "AH o t h e r " loans d e c l i n e d $43,000,000 i n the New York d i s t r i c t and $53,000,000 a t a l l r e p o r t ing banks. Holdings of United S t a t e s Government s e c u r i t i e s i n c r e a s e d $30,000,000 i n the New York d i s t r i c t , $16,000,000 i n the Boston d i s t r i c t , $6,000,000 i n the San Francisco d i s t r i c t and $50,000,000 a t a l l r e p o r t i n g member banks, and d e c l i n e d $b,000,000 i n the Chicago d i s t r i c t .
