The Federal Reserve Board'g c o n d i t i o n statement of 6go r e p o r t i n g member banks
i n l e a d i n g c i t i e s as of March 7 shows d e c l i n e s f o f the Week Of $78*000>000 i n net
demand Deposits and of $29,000,000 i n investments, and i n c r e a s e s of $11,000,000 i n
loans and d i s c o u n t s , of $21,000,000 i n time d e p o s i t s , and of $4,000,000 i n borrowi n g s from F e d e r a l r e s e r v e banks.
Loans on stocks and bonds, i n c l u d i n g U. S. Government o b l i g a t i o n s , vrere
$49,000,000 below the February 29 t o t a l a t a l l r e p o r t i n g banks, $76,000,000 below
a t r e p o r t i n g member banks i n the New York d i s t r i c t , and $19,000,000 and $16,000,000,
r e s p e c t i v e l y , above a t r e p o r t i n g member banks i n the Chicago and Boston d i s t r i c t s .
"All O v h e r " l o a n s and d i s c o u n t s i n c r e a s e d $22,000,000 a t r e p o r t i n g member banks i n
the New York d i s t r i c t , $10,000,000 i n the San Francisco d i s t r i c t , $9,000,000 i n
the Cleveland d i s t r i c t , $7,000,000 i n the P h i l a d e l p h i a d i s t r i c t , ' $6,000,000 each
m the Chicago and Minneapolis d i s t r i c t s , and $59,000,000 a t a l l r e p o r t i n g banks.
Holdings of. U. S. Government o b l i g a t i o n s were $11,000,000 below the amount r e p o r t e d a week ago, d e c l i n e s of $9,000,000 i n the San F r a n c i s c o d i s t r i c t ,
$7,000,000 i n the Cleveland d i s t r i c t , and $6,000,000 i n the P h i l a d e l p h i a d i s t r i c t
being p a r t l y o f f s e t by an i n c r e a s e of $13,000,000 i n the Hew York d i s t r i c t . Hold?
