H.4.2 BOARD OF GOVERNORS OF THE FEDERAL RESERVE SYSTEM (For Immediate Release) June 196.1 CONDITION OF WEEKLY REPORTING MEMBER BANKS H LEADING CITIES The condition statement of weekly reporting member banks in leading cities - *the following principal changes for the week ended May 31 • Increases of $202 mil 1:t in holdings of Treasury "bills, $319 million in "balances with domestic "banks, $17-8 million in demand deposits adjusted, and $693 million in demand deposits credited to domestic banks, and a decrease of $437 million in U. S« Government demand deposits. Commercial and industrial loans decreased a net of $107 million, Loans to "brokers and dealers and loans to others for purchasing or carrying U. S. Government and other securities decreased $92 million. Loans to nohbank financial institutions increased $L27million; and "other" loans increased $65 million. Borrowings of weekly reporting member "banks from Federal Reserve Banks decreased $130 million and "borrowings from others decreased $l8l million. Loans to domestic commercial "banks decreased $62 million.
