CONDITION OF WEEICLY REPORTING MELC3ER BANKS III LEADING- CITIES
The Federal Reserve Board's condition statement of weekly re-porting member
"banks in leading c i t i e s on June 1J shows decreases for the week of $27,000,000 in
loans and investments, $297,000,000 in net demand deposits and $134,000,000 in
time deposits and an increase of $301,000,000 in Government deposits.
Loans on s e c u r i t i e s declined $83,000,000 at reporting member banks in the New
York d i s t r i c t and $71,000,000 at a l l reporting "banks. "All other-" loans increased
$26,000,000 in the New York d i s t r i c t and $12,000,000 at a l l reporting banks.
Holdings of United States Government s e c u r i t i e s declined $55,000,000 in the
New York d i s t r i c t , and increased $25,000,000 in the Cleveland d i s t r i c t ,
$22,000,000 in the Philadelphia d i s t r i c t , $19,000,000 in the Atlanta d i s t r i c t ,
$17,000,000 in the Boston d i s t r i c t , $15,000,000 in the Richmond d i s t r i c t and
$72,000,000 at a l l reporting banks. Holdings of other s e c u r i t i e s declined
$45,000,000 in the New York d i s t r i c t and $40,000,000 at a l l reporting banks.
Borrowings of weekly reporting member banks from Federal reserve banks increased
$3,000,000 each at the Now York and Cleveland banks and declined $8,000,000 at the
San Francisco bank and $2,000,000 at a l l Federal reserve banks.
