industnal loans, but includes an unknown amount of credit extended to other than nonfinancial businesses.
17. For domestically chartered banks data are for the Wednesday preceding the date indicated.
18. Trading account securities and other trading account assets are not available on a district basis. They are included in other assets.
NOTE: Weekly reporting domestic banks acquired $100 million of assets and liabilities of thrift institutions in the week ending June 12,1996. The major asset item affected was
real estate loans, all other $100 million. The major liability item affected was nontransaction deposits-IPC, $100 million. At U.S. branches and agencies of foreign banks, a
reclassification increased loans for purchasing and carrying securities $200 million and reduced loans to nonbank financial institutions the same amount the week endina June
12,1996.
