Condition of Weekly Reporting Member Banks i n 101 Leading C i t i e s
The condition statement of weekly reporting member banks i n 101 leading c i t i e s
shows the following p r i n c i p a l changes f o r the week ended June 7i A decrease of
$22,000,000 i n loans t o brokers and dealers i n s e c u r i t i e s , and increases of
$11,000,000 i n commercial, i n d u s t r i a l and a g r i c u l t u r a l loans, $62,000,000 i n holdings of Treasury b i l l s and $92,000,000 i n demand d e p o s i t s - a d j u s t e d .
Commercial, i n d u s t r i a l and a g r i c u l t u r a l loans increased $5,000,000 each i n New
York City and t h e Chicago d i s t r i c t , and $11,000,000 at a l l r e p o r t i n g member banks.
Loans t o brokers and dealers i n s e c u r i t i e s decreased $15,000,000 i n New York City
and $22,000,000 at a l l reporting member banks.
Holdings of Treasury b i l l s increased $12,000,000 i n New York City, $3-4,000,000
i n the Chicago d i s t r i c t , and $62,000,000 at a l l reporting member banks. Holdings
of Treasury notes increased $43,000,000 i n New York City and $27,000,000 at a l l r e porting member banks, and decreased $13,000,000 i n the San Francisco d i s t r i c t .
Holdings of United S t a t e s Government bonds decreased $15,000,000 i n the Chicago
d i s t r i c t , $9,000,000 i n the Cleveland d i s t r i c t and $8,000,000 at a l l reporting
member banks, and increased $17,000,000 i n New York City and $14,000,000 i n the
S t . Louis d i s t r i c t . Holdings of obligations guaranteed by the United S t a t e s Government increased $20,000,000 i n the San Francisco d i s t r i c t , $17,000,000 i n the New
York d i s t r i c t outside New York City and $37,000,000 at a l l r e p o r t i n g member banks,
and decreased $11,000,000 i n New York City. Holdings of "Other s e c u r i t i e s " i n creased $7,000,000.
Demand d e p o s i t s - a d j u s t e d increased $83,000,000 i n the S t . Louis d i s t r i c t ,
$36,000,000 i n the Philadelphia d i s t r i c t and $92,000,000 at a l l reporting member
banks, and decreased $24,000,000 i n New York City. Time deposits decreased

$6,000,000.

Deposits credited t o domestic banks increased $14,000,000 i n the Minneapolis
d i s t r i c t , $11,000,000 i n the Atlanta d i s t r i c t and $16,000,000 at a l l reporting member banks, and decreased $28,000,000 i n the S t . Louis d i s t r i c t and $27,000,000 i n
New York City* Deposits credited t o foreign banks decreased $12,000,000.
Borrowings of weekly reporting member banks amounted t o $1,000,000 on June 7*
