CONDITION OF WEEKLY REPORTING MEMBER BANKS IN LEADING CITIES
The c o n d i t i o n s t a t e m e n t of weekly r e p o r t i n g member banks i n l e a d i n g c i t i e s
shows t h e f o l l o w i n g p r i n c i p a l changes f o r the week ended J u l y 7 $ Decreases of
$235,000,000 i n h o l d i n g s of United S t a t e s Government s e c u r i t i e s , $167,000,000 i n
demand d e p o s i t s a d j u s t e d , and $192,000,000 i n United S t a t e s Government d e p o s i t s ;
and i n c r e a s e s of $212,000,000 i n demand d e p o s i t s c r e d i t e d t o domestic banks and
$278,000,000 i n borrowings.
Commercial, i n d u s t r i a l , and a g r i c u l t u r a l loans i n c r e a s e d $15,000,000 i n t h e
Cleveland D i s t r i c t , $14,000,000 each %a t h e P h i l a d e l p h i a Mid' S t . Louis d i s t r i c t s ,
and 058,000,000 a t a l l r e p o r t i n g menber b a n k s .
Holdings of T r e a s u r y b i l l s d e c l i n e d $69,000,000 i n New York C i t y , $30,000,000
i n the Say F r a n c i s c o D i s t r i c t , $28,000,000 i n the P h i l a d e l p h i a D i s t r i c t , and
$111,000,000 a t a l l r e p o r t i n g member b a n k s . Holdings of T r e a s u r y c e r t i f i c a t e s of
indebtedness d e c l i n e d $1*8,000,000 i n New York C i t y and $126,000,000 a t a l l r e p o r t i n g member banks. Holdings of United S t a t e s Government bonds i n c r e a s e d $16,000,000
