The c o n d i t i o n s t a t e m e n t of weekly r e p o r t i n g member banks i n l e a d i n g c i t i e s shows t h e f o l l o w i n g p r i n c i p a l changes f o r t h e week ended December 31: I n c r e a s e s of $586 m i l l i o n i n l o a n s a d j u s t e d , $668 m i l l i o n i n b a l a n c e s w i t h domestic banks, $56U m i l l i o n i n demand d e p o s i t s a d j u s t e d , and $1,359 m i l l i o n i n demand d e p o s i t s c r e d i t e d t o domestic banks. Commercial and i n d u s t r i a l l o a n s i n c r e a s e d i n most d i s t r i c t s and a t o t a l bf $258 m i l l i o n a t a l l r e p o r t i n g member banks; t h e p r i n c i p a l changes were i n c r e a s e s of $67 m i l l i o n i n t h e D a l l a s D i s t r i c t , $65 m i l l i o n i n New York C i t y , $Mi m i l l i o n i n Chicago, and $36 m i l l i o n i n t h e San F r a n c i s c o D i s t r i c t , and a decrease of $35 m i l l i o n i n t h e P h i l a d e l p h i a D i s t r i c t .
