Condition of Weekly Reporting Member Banks in 101 Leading C i t i e s
The c o n d i t i o n s t a t e m e n t of weekly r e p o r t i n g member banks i n 101 l e a d i n g c i t i e s
on January 22 shows i n c r e a s e s f o r the week of $56,000,000 in t o t a l l o a n s and i n vestments and $66,000,000 i n demand d e p o s i t s - a d j u s t e d and a d e c r e a s e of $88,000,000
i n Government d e p o s i t s .
Loans to b r o k e r s and d e a l e r s i n Mew York City d e c l i n e d $16,000,000; l o a n s to
b r o k e r s and d e a l e r s o u t s i d e Mew York City d e c l i n e d $2,000,000; and l o a n s on s e c u r i t i e s to o t h e r s ( e x c e p t banks) d e c l i n e d $8,000,000. Holdings of a c c e p t a n c e s and
commercial paper bought and of r e a l e s t a t e loans showed l i t t l e change f o r the week;
loans to banks d e c l i n e d $4,000,000? and "other l o a n s " d e c l i n e d $9,000,000 i n the
Mew York d i s t r i c t and $21,000,000 a t a l l r e p o r t i n g member banks.
