VfEEKLY REPORTING MEMBER B A M S IN LEADING CITIES The condition statement of weekly reporting member banks in leading cities shows the following principal changes for the week ended February 16: Decreases of $107,000,000 each in loans and in holdings of United States Government securities, and $1*32,000,000 in demand deposits adjusted, and an increase of #171,000,000 in United States Government deposits. Commercial, industrial, and agricultural loans decreased $22,000,000 in the San Francisco District, $15,000,000 in the Chicago District, and $28,000,000 at all reporting member banks. Loans for purchasing or carrying securities other than United States Government securities decreased $55,000,000, largely in New York City Holdings of Treasury bills decreased $20,000,000 in New York City and $29,000,000 at all reporting member banks, and increased $21*,000,000 in the Kansas City District. Holdings of Treasury certificates of indebtedness decreased $63,000,000 in Nex. York City, $21,000,000 in the Cleveland District, and $101,000,000 at all reporting member banks. Holdings of United States Government bonds increased $30,000,000. Holdings of "other securities" increased $1*4,000,000 in New York City and $55,000,000 at all reporting member banks. Demand deposits adjusted decreased $194,000,000 in New York City, $105,000,000 in the Chicago District, and $60,000,000 in the Cleveland District, and increased $1*2,000,000 in the Kansas City District. United States Government deposits increased in all districts. Demand deposits credited to domestic banks increased $112,000,000, and demand deposits credited to foreign banks decreased $1*8,000,000.
