STATEMENT FOR THE PRESS B-804 Federal Reserve Board February 13, 1933* For immediate r e l e a s e C0TTDITI01T OF WEEKLY REPORTIKG MEMBER BATIKS I1T LEADING CITIES The Federal Reserve Board's condition statement of weekly r e p o r t i n g member banks i n l e a d i n g c i t i e s on February S shows decreases f o r the week of $152,000,000 in loans and investments, $200,000,000 i n net demand d e p o s i t s , $22,000,000 in time d e p o s i t s , $55,000,000 i n Government d e p o s i t s and $11,000,000 i n borrowings from Federal r e s e r v e banks. Loans on s e c u r i t i e s declined $36,000,000 a t r e p o r t i n g member banks i n the ITew York d i s t r i c t , $8,000,000 each in the Boston and Chicago d i s t r i c t s and $55,000,000 a t a l l r e p o r t i n g member banks. "All o t h e r " loans d e c l i n e d $80,000,000 i n the Pew York d i s t r i c t and $83,000,000 a t a l l r e p o r t i n g banks, and increased $6,000,000 i n the Boston d i s t r i c t . Holdings of United S t a t e s Government s e c u r i t i e s declined $27,000,000 in the Few York d i s t r i c t , and $10,000,000 in the Richmond d i s t r i c t , and inc re ase d $31,000,000 in the Chicago d i s t r i c t , a l l r e p o r t i n g banks showing a net decrease of $5,000,000 f o r the week. Holdings of other s e c u r i t i e s declined $6,000,000 i n the Few York d i s t r i c t and $9,0)0,000 a t a l l r e p o r t i n g banks. Borrowings of weekly r e p o r t i n g member banks from Federal r e s e r v e banks aggregated $70,000,000 on F e b r u a r y ' s , the p r i n c i p a l change f o r the week being a decrease of $12,000,000 a t the Federal Reserve Bank of San F r a n c i s c o .
