STATEMENT FOR THE PRESS B-^804 F e d e r a l Reserve Board December IS, 1933# For immediate r e l e a s e CONDITION OF WEEKLY REPORTING MEMBER BAKES III 90 LEADING- CITIES The F e d e r a l Reserve B o a r d ' s c o n d i t i o n statement of weekly r e p o r t i n g member banks i n 90 l e a d i n g c i t i e s on December 13 shows i n c r e a s e s f o r the week of $122,000,000 i n n e t demand d e p o s i t s and $83,000,000 i n r e s e r v e b a l a n c e s with F e d e r a l Reserve banks, and d e c r e a s e s of $81,000,000 i n loans and i n v e s t m e n t s , $11,000,000 i n time d e p o s i t s and $50,000,000 i n Government d e p o s i t s . Loans on s e c u r i t i e s i n c r e a s e d $36,000,000 a t r e p o r t i n g member banks i n the Hew York d i s t r i c t and $4o,000,000 a t a l l r e p o r t i n g member b a n k s . "All o t h e r " loans d e c l i n e d $57»000»000 i n the New York d i s t r i c t and $66,000,000 a t a l l r e p o r t i n g banks. Holdings of United S t a t e s Government s e c u r i t i e s i n c r e a s e d $11,000,000 i n the Chicago d i s t r i c t and $12,000,000 a t a l l r e p o r t i n g member b a n k s . Holdings of other s e c u r i t i e s d e c l i n e d $62,000,000 i n the New York d i s t r i c t , $10,000,000 i n the Chicago d i s t r i c t and $67,000,000 a t a l l r e p o r t i n g b a n k s .
