Credit extended by foreign branches of domestically chartered weekly reporting banks to nonbank U.S. residents. Consists mainly of commercial and industrial loans, but includes an unknown amount of credit extended to other than nonfinancial businesses. 17. For domestically chartered banks data are for the Wednesday preceding the date indicated. 18. Trading account securities and other trading account assets are not available on a district basis. They are included in other assets. NOTE: Weekly reporting domestic banks increased nontransaction deposits, individuals, partnerships, and corporations $400 million; commercial and industrial loans to U.S. addressees, $600 million; loans to individuals, $700 million and reduced other transaction deposits, $100 million; nontransaction deposits, state and political subdivisions, $200 million; real estate loans, revolving, home equity, $400 million; real estate loans, all other, $500 million; and lease financing receivables, $500 million due to reclassifications the week ending August 21,1996. Another reclassification increased demand deposits, certified and officers' checks $200 million and reduced demand deposits, indivduals, partnerships, and corporations the same amount the week ending August 21,1996.
