H .4.2 BOARD OF GOVERNORS OF THE FEDERAL RESERVE SYSTEM (For Immediate Release) August 26, 1953 CONDITION OF WEEKLY REPORTING MEMBER BANKS IN LEADING CITIES The condition statement of weekly reporting member banks in leading cities shows the following principal changes for the week ended August 19: .^creases ment deposits. Commercial, industrial, and agricultural loans increased $28 ndllion at all reporting member banks; the principal changes were increases of $21 million in the press release. Loans to brokers and dealers for purchasing or carrying securities decreased $168 million. Loans to banks decreased $70 million.
