CONDITION OF WEEKLY REPORTING MEMBER BANKS IN LEADING CITIES

The condition statement of weekly reporting member banks in leading cities
shows the following principal changes for the week ended August 19: .^creases
ment deposits.
Commercial, industrial, and agricultural loans increased $28 ndllion at all
reporting member banks; the principal changes were increases of $21 million in the
press release. Loans to brokers and dealers for purchasing or carrying securities
decreased $168 million. Loans to banks decreased $70 million.

Holdings of Treasury bills decreased Hill million in the New lork.District and
banks. Holdings of Treasury certificates of indebtedness and of Treasury note
decreased $38 million and $23 million, respectively*

York City. Demand deposits credited to domestic banks decreased in nearly all J.S

Borrowings increased $$h million in the San Francisco District and decreased
