COITBITIOH OF MB'BEE 3A&JKS 13 LEADING CITIES The Federal Reserve B o a r d ' s c o n d i t i o n statement of 648 r e p o r t i n g member banks m l e a d i n g c i t i e s as of A p r i l 4 sticks an i n c r e a s e of ^344,000,0^0 i n loans and d i s counts, of $332,000,000 i n net demand d e p o s i t s and of $8$,000,000 i n borrowings from Federal r e s e r v e banks and a decrease of $31,000,000 i n investments and of ^11,000,000 i n time d e p o s i t s . Loans on s t o c k s and bonds, i n c l u d i n g U. S. Government o b l i g a t i o n s , were A $278,000,000 above the March 28 t o t a l a t a l l r e p o r t i n g banks. The p r i n c i p a l i n c r e a s e s by Federal r e s e r v e d i s t r i c t s were: Sew York $205,000,000, Boston '.522,000,000, and San F r a n c i s c o and Cleveland $12,000,000 each.
