The c o n d i t i o n statement of weekly r e p o r t i n g member banks i n 101 leading
c i t i e s shows t h e f o l l o w i n g p r i n c i p a l changes f o r the week ended A p r i l 3 : An i n crease of $31,000,000 i n commercial, i n d u s t r i a l and a g r i c u l t u r a l l o a n s , a decrease
of $79,000,000 i n h o l d i n g s of "Other s e c u r i t i e s " , i n c r e a s e s of $66,000,000 i n r e serve b a l a n c e s with Federal Reserve banks and $125,000,000 i n d e p o s i t s c r e d i t e d t o
domestic banks, and a decrease of $101,000,000 i n demand d e p o s i t s - a d j u s t e d .
Commercial, i n d u s t r i a l and a g r i c u l t u r a l l o a n s i n c r e a s e d $14,000,000 i n i<ow

Holdings of United S t a t e s Treasury b i l l s decreased $16,000,000 i n t h e
Chicago d i s t r i c t and $7,000,000 a t a l l r e p o r t i n g member banks. Holdings of
Treasury n o t e s i n c r e a s e d $36,000,000 i n Hew York City and $19,000,000 at a l l r e p o r t i n g member banks, and decreased $14,000,000 i n the Richmond d i s t r i c t . Holdings
of "Other s e c u r i t i e s " decreased $83,000,000 i n New York City and $79,000,000 at a l l
r e p o r t i n g member banks.
Demand deposits—adjusted decreased $75,000,000 i n the Hew York d i s t r i c t
o u t s i d e Hew York C i t y , $28,000,000 i n the Chicago d i s t r i c t , $16,000,000 i n t h e
Kansas City d i s t r i c t and $101,000,000 at a l l r e p o r t i n g member banks, and increased
$34,000,000 i n t h e P h i l a d e l p h i a d i s t r i c t and $17,000,000 i n Hew York City. Time
d e p o s i t s i n c r e a s e d $9,000,000 i n Hew York City and $17,000,000 a t a l l r e p o r t i n g
member banks*
Deposits c r e d i t e d t o domestic banks i n c r e a s e d $55,000,000 i n Hew York City,
$17,000,000 i n t h e Boston d i s t r i c t , $9,000,000 in t h e Richmond d i s t r i c t , and
